Throwback Thursday: CSC

The college that I went to officially changed its name today -> Castleton State College is now Castleton University. Personally, I think this is awesome and see no problem with it at all. However, I’ve seen a lot of mixed ideas on my social media feeds. Some people think that it’s a big joke while others are excited about the change. Although it will be a little weird that ‘CSC’ no longer exists except for in my memories, I believe that it’s a step in the right direction. I’m mostly excited that I will get a new diploma that says University on it 😉CSCA small school with a big heart is how Castleton is described and I couldn’t agree more. The 4 years that I spent there are some of the best (& worst) times of my life. I learned a lot, not only in academics but about life and the person I was becoming. It’s located close to Killington Mountain where I spent a couple of winters working, snowboarding for free, and causing a ruckus. I played varsity soccer for 2 years… and intramural soccer all 4 years in which we were reigning champs for a few! I fell in love with the beauty of Vermont. Most importantly, I made friends with so many people who’ve changed my life for the better and I now can’t imagine living without.

I’ve said this before and I don’t mean to brag (yes I do), but I have the greatest friends in the whole entire world. Each and every one of you are amazing. It’s like we’re our own little family. When we all get together, which is usually 1-2x a year, it feels as though we haven’t missed a beat. Even though we’re all off on our own adventures now, we all make it a point to keep in touch with one another. Everyone cares about each other so damn much and I’m so grateful for that! I truly don’t know if I would have made it through those 4 years without you all! SO MUCH LOVE ❤

When I look back at my time at Castleton, all I can do is smile (and laugh at the absolute shenanigans that went on).

Now it’s time for a bunch of #tbt pictures from over the years:

My college changed its name the year before I applied. I think the transition was great for the school, although it was a bit sad to see historic signs with the old name get torn down. Great post 🙂

    1. That they are!!! It’s weird because I miss it so much yet I don’t think I’d want to go back to that time.

I miss college so much! But I don’t miss being broke :). My college also changed names, but it was back in the 1990s (changed from college to university). It’s fun to look back on college days and think of how much fun it was growing up. It looks like you really cherished your college years and made the most of them, too.
